Immune To The Media
03:26
|
|||
My head is full of contradictions, not of my own design.
Separating fact from fiction is burning out my time
Looking at the world through headline news I wish I never read
My sense of self I'm beginning to losand it's messing with my head
I wanna be immune to the media, dont wanna be affected.
I've come around to thinking my life would be easier being less connected
Dont wanna be in tune with the media, dont wanna be insenstive
But I've taken so much, I'm cold to the touch, I got no fucks left to give,
I got no fucks left to give, I got no fucks left, I got no fucks left to give,
I'm challenged online to speak my mind about some big thing in the news
For me to oblige means picking a side and I'm damned whichever way I choose
Makes no sense to sit on the fence, I'll be no less vilified
The right to silence I thought I had no more can I exercise

Yeah, we all sang along. No time to be 21
We said by 29 we'd be all be dead
So much for that prophecy. Accepting our destiny
Got jobs, got married or brought up kids instead
Some of us lost our hair. Some of us lost our way
But we never lost our eyes, ears or brains
We thought, we'd done our bit. Still living with the same bullshit
Frustrated by the fact so little has changed
Old fuckers still kick ass. Old fuckers still call you out
Immune to all the poisons you may spout
Old fuckers still kick ass. Old fuckers still call you out
Don't give a fuck but always give a fuck for everything worth giving a fuck about
Yeah, you heard our tales. Thinking our ship has sailed
Now living in hope that someone's gonna carry our flame
We make a fist and punch the air when we witness people out there
Who reflect our old ideals in their fresh campaign
We get back on our feet, to follow and not compete
with anyone who dares to lead that cause
But all too often it seems, light of day is the death of dreams
But your dreams were mine as much as they were yours
Light of day may dazzle our eyes, but in the dark we are compromised
Light a candle if you hope to lead the way
If it's a choice of quick or slow, how soon comes the answer 'no!'
How long before we rise to a better day

Letters
03:08
|
|||
I read the letters page in my local paper
I came across a letter written by a neighbour
Smacked of intolerance and fascist inuendo
Straight from the discontented taxpayer's manifesto
It's only one moronic ill informed opinion
Surely it's not sound enough to influence decisions
But it's in black and white so somehow validated
To reinforce the prejudice of the socially constipated
Be scared, be very scared, these people walk amongst us
They mind their manners wait their turn too timid to confront us
They take our money, give us change and service with a smile
They clean our windows fix our cars and keep our name on file
They write to their MPs, authorities and the press
They dress their propaganda in the guise of common sense
But give them a sniff of power and upon us they'll descend
They'll make individuality a criminal offence
Blame it on the government, the teachers and the parents
Blame it on the homeless, the children and the vagrants
They all believe if everyone was the same as them
The whole world would be a better place by next weekend
No questioning their scruples, principles and morals
They know the rights and wrongs of everybody's quarrels
In every situation they'd know what to do
Got all the answers but they still don't have a clue.

Penny From Me
01:56
|
|||
So you're homeless, and you're hungry
... you wont get a penny from me
Poor victim of society
... you wont get a penny from me
Got 7 wives and 16 kids,
... you wont get a penny from me
you're jobless, and you're futureless
... you wont get a penny from me
So you've got problems, so have I,
... you wont get a penny from me
I rattle my coins as I pass you by,
... you wont get a penny from me
Got enough big issues of my own,
... you wont get a penny from me
I already pay for your methadone,
... you wont get a penny from me
Cos I'm smarter than you, I'm stronger than you,
I'm better than you, and I got better things to do with my money
....than give it to you....
You're playin hard on your guitar,
... you wont get a penny from me
Play as hard as you like but I dont give a shite,
... you wont get a penny from me
How I love those John Lennon songs,
... you wont get the better of me
Sing all day long about right and wrong,
... you wont get a penny from me

Suck My Fist
03:30
|
|||
Margaret Thatcher. Boris Johnson, ... Theresa May.
Tell Gordon Brown and Duncan-Smith, take note of the time and day.
.. Selwyn Gummer, Tony Blair, congrats you've made the list.
Bring old Adolf with you and prepare ... to suck my fist!
Suck my fist you heartless cunts, dont dare to question why.
I might not change the world but many a need I'll satisfy.
Suck my fist, you sick fascists and wave your teeth goodbye.
If you dodge my fist, and you make me miss I'll take your fucking eye
Please respond - R.S.V.P ... to this courteous invite.
Leave behind your camera phones, cos it'll be a memorable night.
Rees Mogg and Michael Gove confirmed, Anne Widdecombe couldn't resist.
To dress to the nines, and stand in line ... to suck my fucking fist.
A special thanks to Donald Trump, and 'Dubya' for confirming.
But Michael Heseltines failure to respond is quite concerning.
Norman Tebbit, cannot make it, but we'll set another date instead
to suck my fist and feel it good, before the bastard's dead.

Put A Sock In It
05:43
|
|||
Sticks and stones can break my bones, but words can never hurt me
There was a time I believed that to be true
But the words of the government bring about actions to the detriment
of people like me... and you
Three quarters of a million signed their names on that petition
Eight hundred thousand marched the streets together
In responding to the masses across all political classes
A spokesman for the Government he said... 'yeah whatever'
What made the message sinister was painfully familiar.
Dismissal by default at every turn
From the cradle to the grave you're expected to behave,
in ways set down before you're even born
Conform when you're at school, be transformed into a tool
that keeps the wheels of commerce spinning faster
Be punctual, be polite, be oblivious to your rights
And never disrespect your lords and masters
(or you'll hear them say)
Put a sock in it - Sit down. Don't try to act the clown
Don't make another sound until you're told.
If you rise to stand against us you will suffer the consequences
but you can be free, if you agree to be controlled.
Do what you like, as long you do what you're told.
You can be free, if you agree to be controlled.
Constantly, it bothers me about our dear democracy
that even if you present a majority.
The argument's been won, still nothing will be done
'til it's ratified by some badge of authority.
And as they write the legislation they'll find time for manipulation
around the finer points of what's 'agreed'
When it's finally approved you'll find parameters been moved
'til you wonder what exactly's been achieved
(but it's time you moved on)
Keep on paying your bills on time. There's hell to pay if you fall behind
and penalties for failure to comply
Maintain a healthy bank account, if you can't they'll happily sort you out
with easy credit terms - if you qualify
They'll help you file complaints, if you have the time to waste
but be advised it'll wreck your credit score
And to teach you one last lesson, they'll take all of your possessions
cos their lawyers are much better paid than yours
(but you had your chance)

Why Aren't We Fighting?
03:34
|
|||
Why are we not fighting when they gamble with our lives?
When they cry "death to democracy" and oppression starts to rise?
When they hide all their cash abroad, but demand we pay our bills.
We pick up the tab for austerity while they pick up the frills.
Why aren’t we fighting? - when we’re constantly fed lies?
Why aren’t we fighting? - Are we all now hypnotised?
Why aren’t we fighting? - When did we admit defeat?
Why aren’t we fighting? - Is the mind control complete?
Why aren’t we fighting? fighting? fighting?
You can drag me round the corner, and kick me in the face
But as long as I still breathe, I’ll battle on for the human race
You can repossess my property, try to crush me with your will
But you can't pick off a target that refuses to be still
If we all knew what they’re doing, there’d be no lying down
If we all knew what was going on, we’d burn their empires down
If we all gave a little bit more, there would be less to take away
If we all evened up the score, we'd change the course of history

Last Night I
03:45
|
|||
Last night I sketched a picture of Mohammed
I was home alone with no-one else around
But I rubbed out and ripped it up and binned it
To make sure there was no way it could be found
Nobody saw, nobody knew a thing about it,
I brought no hardship nor harm to anyone,
But I can tell you last night,
It felt good and it felt right,
And i'll punch the guy who tells me it was wrong.
Last night I smoked a joint while watching telly,
It made me feel so happy and relaxed
that I rolled another one just to add to the fun,
And I laughed so hard I pissed my fucking pants
Last night I put my fingers down my trousers
And I played with myself a little while
Though could have done without it there was something good about it
Left me warm and wet and wearing a smile
And while secretly I sinned against your doctrine
Out on the street all the usual crap was happening
All the drinking and the screaming and the fighting
All the cheating and the taking without asking
Everyone can see the obscenity and the outrage
Up to the minute, 'cross the world each day and night
I understand that it's come to be expected
But I challenge you to tell me that it's right
Everyone can see the Smugness and the Arrogance
Up to the minute, 'cross the world each day and night
All the decadence despite the deprivation
I challenge you to tell me that it's right

Drag Of A Day
03:49
|
|||
What a way to start a day, I slept through my alarm.
Any other day the situation would bring about no harm.
I gotta be some place I don't wanna go
Big trouble I have to face if I don't show.
I wanna stay in bed all day but there's no more room for procrastination.
It's cold outside and I can't be bothered but some things have to be done.
I won't apologise or step aside for anybody who gets in my way.
I'll get it together, drag myself through another damn drag of a day.
(Drag of a day, drag of a...)
I've gathered all my documents I need for an interview,
For a job that I don't want but it's a job that I can do.
I gotta be keeping a roof over my head.
I might even get my head down when I'm dead.
What's the deal with the early morning start at the city court?
Been called for jury service at 9am I gotta report.
Can't they see I'm wasting their time as well as my own.
My lights are on but there's nobody at home.

Goolies
03:35
|
|||
When you're feeling deep down in depression, never felt so lonely and blue.
Can't get you no satisfaction, I've got the remedy for you.
It won't cost you no money, and it won't cause you no pain.
Won't take too much time or energy, and when it's done you'll wanna do it again.
Gie yer goolies, gie yer goolies, gie yer goolies, gie yer goolies.
Gie yer goolies, gie yer goolies, gie yer goolies,
a dicht wi' a weet soapy cloot.
(Trans: Give your gonads a cursory wipe with a wet soapy flannel)
If you listen to what I say, the solution is in your own hands.
Just make some quality time for yourself, ahead of all your other demands.
When you're feeling like you're less than nobody, no-one listens to a word that you say.
Now you know that you've got what it takes, to wipe all your troubles away.
You know it's not complicated, just got to make the decision.
Spread some love, tenderness and affection, to your testicular region.

Take Your Share
07:39
|
|||
We're getting our electricity in a cheap and convenient way.
Our ration of nuclear waste is a price we have to pay.
Lou Kaemia, delivery boy says we have to take our share.
A few milligrams to everyone, just to make it fair.
I don't want no nuclear waste in my garden.
I don't wanna turn my back yard into a bomb.
Takes too much energy to put it into space.
Energy is precious today so we scatter it all over the place.
A baby in ten's a mutant, and the geiger's going over the score.
Our background count's a permanent x-ray. Every day means a little bit more.
